So tiny, yet so delicate

Many Reedfrogs live their adult lives on a Water Banana. During the day they hide in one of the axils of the plant and after sunset, crawl out and begin peeping their advertising call. With enough humidity they stay on the same plant but sometimes move down to the water surface. Countless Reedfrogs perished during the extreme drought of 2021, but in the Zazamalala forest we have plenty of them. During the breeding period, the female descends toward the pool and sets off a cluster of eggs.
